Social Story: “I am visiting the clinic today for some games.”
Sometimes, I might need to go to a special place called a psychology clinic.
The clinic is where a friendly person called a psychologist will talk and play with me. This visit helps Sharon (psychologist) understand how I think, feel, and learn. It's okay to feel a little nervous. Everyone feels that way sometimes.
When I arrive, I climb the stairs one step at a time using my quiet feet. I sit in the cozy waiting area and wait a bit. While I wait for Sharon, I can read a book or play with some toys.
Sharon calls my name and takes me to a special room where we talk and play. There may be fun activities on an iPad, some questions, drawing in a book, or playing with toys. It's just a way to learn more about me!
After we are done, I can go back to my mum and dad. Sharon talks to them about how I did.
I know I am brave and strong. Every child's visit at the clinic is special, just like me! Soon, we leave the clinic and maybe even get a treat for being so brave!
